The Mercoid Series 190 is a single-stage top mount displacer type level control. Unlike float-type controls that ride on the liquid surface, the displacer principle uses buoyancy changes as the liquid level rises and falls around a submerged displacer element. This makes the Series 190 suitable for applications with turbulent liquid surfaces, varying liquid densities, or where a float would be impractical. Available with fixed or adjustable deadband, it can be configured for pump start/stop control or high/low alarm service. The top mount installation simplifies installation on open tanks and vessels.
